The store is large, well-stocked, and full service with gunsmiths on staff. One quirk, they do not allow people silhouettes for targets…some kind of rule Mentor imposed on them. They have 20 lanes in 2 rooms with automatic retrieval systems and are handicap accessible…one person in our class used a wheel chair. He wanted us to be safe, have fun, and practice using our guns. The range itself has the same safety rules as most indoor ranges, but our safety officer made us feel comfortable and not like there was someone looking over our shoulders. This caused more stress than I needed, especially when they found the documentation by the time the class ended. ![]() The only problem is they could not find any record of our payment and every break they wanted us to pay again. They want you to bring at least 100 rounds. There were 16 in my class and I could have shot 300 rounds if I cared to. Bring multiple weapons (leave in car) and there will be plenty of time to shoot them. You will definitely be ready for the classroom portion to end. You spend 5 ½ or 6 hours in the classroom and the rest of the time on the range. The CCW class is combined with the NRA basic course. He talked kind of fast so my dad had a hard time understanding him sometimes. Our instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable about all kinds of firearms. We chose the Saturday option and the only downside is that it does not start until noon…meaning you do not get out until 8:30 pm. When you sign up with a family member or friend it save you each $20. ![]() ![]() My father and I went to Point Blank Range in Mentor for their CCW class.
